    All videos are extremely interesting! I see that mostly all Japanese tank are clones of the Pz.35(t), which is strange. Czechoslovakia was captured by Germany and stopped tank development. They produced only variation of Pz.38(t) till to the WW2 end, i.e. Hetzer, Marder. But Japan wasn't captured and nevertheless stopped their tank development either.
    I'm still thinking that adding Japan side will last the life of Steel Fury Basketball

    My opinion is that the Asia-Pacific theater of the war is just as important as the European, African theaters of WWII. No, they did not have for the most part the large scale land battles as did the European, African campaigns with tank/land warfare.

    But the Asia-Pacific theater of the war is just as improtant and just about forgotten and left out of the tank sim gaming and only covered by the air/submarine PC combat simulators.

    If STA SF did venture into this theater of the war with tank simulation of the Asia-Pacific war, it would be breaking new ground and adding a part of WWII that is not touched by the tank sim world.

    As you stated lockie... I'm still thinking that adding Japan side will last the life of Steel Fury.

    Fully agree with your statement and it would also give the game more mission options and more important add to the life of STA SF.

    Also it would be very interesting and great to hear some ideas and thoughts from some of our Asian community and our regular community members of the STA SF game.

    Maybe a forum questionnaire or survey? Smile

    I n my opinion adding a Korean war mod would make more sense. Unlike the Pacific war there were quite a few tank versus tank battles in 1950-51 between North Korean -Red Chinese vs US-NATO forces. More importantly we already have many of the tanks used in that conflict in SF. Namely the T-34/85, the SU-76, the Sherman, the Pershing and the M-36.The Commonwealth forces used Bren Carriers and Cromwell tanks in addition to Centurions.Unlike a Japanese mod a lot of models we already have.

    I'm with frinik on this one, Korea seems like less of a leap compared to WW2 in the Pacific with the Japs.

    For the new theater there will be a big problem - how to make a polygon? For the Korean war we don't have any appropriate landscapes. Well, may be for the Khalkhin-Gol battle there won't be a problem to make a landscape, coz it was a plain steppe and a river and some mounds. There were no trees/bushes, no houses. There should be implemented only handweapon and one AT gun 37mm for Japan side.

    Korea has a continental-temperate climate very much like the Ukraine. There are no jungles nor deserts. The maps should not be a major problem. I suspect the vegetation is largely similar to what we have in SF. I mean one of Panzer Elite's modders did a Korea mod using the default maps of the game and it worked well.

    I agree that the Korean War may be easier to implement than WWII Pacific War. Problem is the Korean Peninsula is quite mountainous, and many of battles took place in narrow valleys.

    I've added generic Japanese phrases to the SSM2.0. U may voice them in correct manner, i.e. for the tank crew.
    just make a record, then send to me or place it by erself.
    There is file:
    ...data\k42\loc_rus\levels\levels\common\snd_list_jpn.engcfg
    where all phrases has description. I.e.:

    load_ap, jload_ap*, txt_sub_load_ap;
    load_ap - activity. It does, which phrase subject to play. In our case it is "AP loading".
    jload_ap* - phrases, which should be played. There could be a several:
    1. jload_ap_01 (standard)
    2. jload_ap_02 (with accent)
    3. jload_ap_03 (with additional phrase or other voice or whatever)
    * - means numerical ending. Game engine will pick any from available ones. Usually, one phrase is quite enough.
    All phrases are located here for the infantry:
    ...data\k42\loc_rus\sounds\speech\inf_jpn
    for the tank
    ...data\k42\loc_rus\sounds\speech\tank_jpn

    txt_sub_load_ap - subtitle
    txt_sub_load_ap() { Load armour piercing round!; }
    All subtitles are located here:
    ...data\k42\loc_rus\text\loc_kit_subs.text

    This is great info! Thanks! I see landscape is similar to the "Tiger vs T-34", but it is only from the first glance. It is completely a new landscape. To implement smth. similar, which looks now as Normandy, we spent ~3 years. Well, it's better to implement a new stuff in the new engine/game: PzUnity or even in Steel blaze(of course, if devs will make adequate tools with GUI and implement scripts for the missions, which I'm sure will never happen Very Happy). At this moment, I prefer to make side Japan and make battle at Khalkhin-Gol. It'll be a planes for the long-long future.

    I understand your hesitation, but imho, if you take a look at these pictures, I think that the Korean landscape isn't THAT difficult to recreate; if you use a mix of palms and new flora developed for Western Europe/Normandy, along with Eastern Front firs and pines it might be doable?

    Also, maybe some existing SF maps could be reused, mainly the ones with hilly terrain, like the Crimea part of Kyth's Pz 38(t) campaign or maybe the stock SF maps with prominent hills on them like M16_Izum.

    I entirely agree. What we would need would be a few new buildings as the Korean architecture is very different from the European one. Also new insignias for the North Korean tanks. New uniforms for the North Korean troops.

    Izum , Igor Japan( used by Kyth for the Crimean campaign), BSSR2. Just modify the vegetation somewhat. Even some of the desert maps with added vegetation could be recycled.

    In fact the Korean landscape looks a lot like the Southern Italian one. May be dual Italian campaign- Korean War missions?
