    Does anyone here know how I can modify/improve the 3D models used in T34 vs Tiger?

    What format are the models in.. how can I extract them..

    You would need to find Murkz. Not sure if he is member of this forum. He used to mod for TvsT the multiplayer .He is one of the creator of the MMP5, 6 and 7 mods .\

    I think you need Maya to extract the models. Another person to ask is Zeewolf but not sure he will answer you. Here's his homepage:

    yeah, that is not really an option.

    What would make my life easier is if I could convert the tank interiors to a readable format.
    I like to use them as reference to model a higher quality version.
    I cannot find any tool to convert the models.

    Do u've a skill in 3D modeling? If so, I may share with u a cockpit model of T-34/85. It is in format 3dmax.
    I'd like to see this cockpit in SF. Of course, I may help u how to adjust it. And of course, u need to get a 3D model of T-34/85 tank itself. I may say there are many free models of this tank in inet. We may discuss it through e-mail.

    Hey Lockie,

    I'm currently working on a Tiger1 simulator in Unreal Engine4. I'm a professional 3D Artist since 1997.
    I have all the technical manuals and drawing for the tiger, but it will help having a rough interior to work with.
    At the moment I'm putting together proof of concept, and the plan is to get the Tiger running with realistic physics/ engine / transmission, accurate ballistics and armour penetration system. The second tank on my list is a T34 , so a cockpit for the T34 would also be very helpfull.
    A friend of mine is writing a Modular machine tool kit in UE4 for simulation.

    Never heard of Panzer Unity group.

    All my ideas and wishes come from playing most tank games out on the market and after a few years of experimenting.. I think it's time to finally put together a working prototype of what I would want to play.. with the feedback from fellow tankers.

    When it comes to tanking I mostly play(ed) Steel Beasts Pro, but there are no WW2 tanks in there.
    I want to try and build a tank sim to give people the feeling what it was like to operate a tiger or T34 or panther.
    I also experimented with VR, but I'm first focusing on solid controls without overcomplicating things. Back with Oculus DK1 I had a working prototype in unity of controlling the tiger from the commander perspective.. but when you are turned out and the tank moves.. you get motion sickness Very Happy

    How do u know that new tanksim will bring feeling to operate tiger/panther?
    Did u drive the mentioned tanks? I mean, without experience how it does(driving) in reality - it's impossible to recreate it as PC program.
    And I'm not sure that feedback from fellow tankers will corresponds to the real things.
    Let's take myself, I've no any experience with a tank driving or how it does with operating, coz I'm a casual player. I'm pretty sure there are many users like me. Let's say 90%
    But suppose the new sim will be oriented only for the former/current tankers as a training program? If so, then why "tiger/panther"? It should be a modern tanks like Leo/Abrams whatever bom

    no, I have no idea how it feels.. but I have great imagination.
    The physics/engine/transmission code is all modular so in theory they should somewhat handle like their real world counter parts as al things are taken into account (weight, torque, gear ratios, type of transmission / steering) .. it's not hard to imagine a t34 moves and steers very different than a tiger.

    I'm just going to set it up the way I think it feels ok. I'm doing this for me.. and in the end hope someone else will enjoy it too.

    And the Tiger test is just the beginning.. all the current code / tools I have can be used for old to modern tanks and I will definitely do a modern one (also working on a CV90).

    It's just that combat wise.. I like the WW2 era since it feels more like a wild west shootout with angles, distance etc.. where in steel beasts .. even when I'm in an strv122 .. if a t72 spots me first.. I'm toast Smile

    Their work is right up your alley.They are modding WW2 tanks to create a new realistic WW2 tanksim. You may want to contact them and join your efforts may be?

    Many of them modded for TvsT , Panzer Elite and may be even Steel Beasts.

    ah, I see they are doing what I started with in Unity.

    They are using the physics tank scripts from chobi.

    I did my first test with that and planned on using unity because if it, but decided to go with UE4 because of the visual quality and that I find it easier to create something playable with blueprints.
    As an artist I need to work visually, and the blueprint system allows me to do that without coding.

    But it is an interesting project.. I don't know them.. and have no clue if they would want to team up.

    If you want I can put you in touch with one of the guys working on that project. Somehow I knew you were connected to it. They are nice guys and quite amenable to working i n team. They even tried to convince Zeewolf to team up with them to revamp TvsT 3 years ago but he refused. Let me know!
